CS-Cart Random products add-on

"Random products" add-on randomly selects the products from the store and displays them at the website in a block. It is an easy way to direct shoppers' attention to the featured products. The list of featured products is changed after the web page refreshing providing the customers with a potentially effective advertisement.

Features:

Ability to show your products in a block on any website page in a random order.
Two display modes:

manually - shows random products in a block from the list of the manually chosen products by the administrator;

similar - shows random products in a block from the same category on a product details page.
No limitation for the quantity of products to display.
The list of products is changed after the web page refreshing.

Compatibility:

This add-on works correctly in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera latest browser versions.
The add-on is currently compatible with CS-Cart and MultiVendor 4.x.x.

Notes:

1. We offer free installation of this add-on only for the default CS-Cart versions (that don't have any file changes and additional modules). Otherwise the installation may require additional charge.

2. After the payment is confirmed, you will be able to download the add-on from the order details page.

Add-on's settings

How to create "Random products" block?

After the add-on installation in the administration panel go to Design → Blocks → click the necessary location tab → click "Add block" in a necessary Grid.
On the appeared page click "Create New block" tab and choose "Random products".
Fill out the appeared form:
- Name - type in the name of your block in the entry field. If you want the Name of the block to be displayed in the storefront, choose Mainbox wrapper after the "Random products" block creation;
- Template - choose the necessary available template from the select box (Products, Products2, Links thumb, Grid, Grid2, Multicolumns small, Scroller, Side box first items, Small items, Text links, Without image).
Click "Content" tab, here you can choose the Filling from the select box:
- manually - choose this filling and click "Add products" link below to add prducts that will be randomly displayed in the block. This block can be located on any website page.
- similar - The block with a similar filling can be assigned to product pages only. In the storefront on a product details page the "Random products" block will show randomly chosen products of the same category as the current product.
Click "Block settings" tab, you can see the following settings:
- Hide add to cart button - tick this checkbox if you don't want "Add to cart" button to appear near random products;
- Limit - here you can enter the quantity of random products which will be displayed in the block.

Installation instruction

Download the archive with the Random products add-on.
Unpack the archive's content and upload files to your server in the root directory with the installed CS-Cart.
Log into the administration panel of your store, go to the Administration -> Add-ons page.
In the list of add-ons find the Random products add-on and click Install opposite to its name.
That's all, the add-on is installed.
Choose Active status.
