Variant images CS-Cart add-on

CS-Cart Variant images add-on allows you to assign several images for each of your option variants.

For example, if your customer selects a black dress, the main image will change to the image of a black dress and customer will be able to click on additional images to see a black dress from different angles. It gives your customers a nicer overall user experience. The standard CS-Cart functionality allows you to add only one image for each option variant.

Ability to assign unlimited number of images for each option variant;
Adds a Variant images tab on the product editing page in the admin back-end (if a product has options);
Works correctly with option combinations and forbidden combinations;
Works with both option types – Simultaneous, Sequential;
Doesn't affect the inventory functionality.

Compatibility:

This add-on works correctly in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera latest browser versions.
This add-on doesn't work with twigmo.
The add-on is compatible with CS-Cart 3.0.x. and v.4.x.

Updates!

Import/export are added on October 2017. The new version of the add-on is available for CS-Cart 4.

Notes:

1. We offer free installation of this add-on for the default CS-Cart versions (that don't have any file changes and additional modules). Otherwise, the installation may require some additional charge.

Add-on settings:

Log into the admin panel and go to Add-ons -> Manage add-ons. Click the Variant images add-on. On the appeared page you can see the following settings:

Override main image - if this checkbox is checked, the product main image will be replaced by the first variant image. If this checkbox is unchecked, product variant images will be added to the product main image.

Override additional images - if this checkbox is checked, additional images will be replaced by variant images. If this checkbox is unchecked, product variant images will be added to additional images.

How to add the variant images?

1. In the admin panel go to Products -> Products, choose the necessary product.

2. On the Editing product page you should add the necessary options.

3. After the options are added and saved, the Variant images tab appears on the Editing product page.

4. Click the Variant images tab and add you will see your options with variants.

5. Add as many images as you want for each option variant.

6. Save.

Notices:

1. You can add variant images for one created option (for example, Color).

2. All standard functionality available for options works correctly. Thus, you can create necessary option combinations, forbidden combinations, set the available quantity for every option combination, etc.

3. On the Editing product page in the General tab you can choose the Options type (how this product's options and variants appear on the storefront):

Simultaneous - all options and variants appear simultaneously and independently;
Sequential - options and variants are chosen successively one after another, and customers will be able to chose only the allowed option combination, avoiding exceptions.

Installation instruction

1. Download the archive with the Variant images add-on.

2. Unpack the archive's content and upload files to your server in the root directory with the installed CS-Cart.

3. Log into the administration panel of your store, go to the Add-ons -> Manage add-ons.

4. In the list of add-ons find the Variant images and click Install opposite to its name.

5. That's all, the add-on is installed.
