"Request a quote" CS-Cart modification
As you know CS-Cart is an eCommerce platform for ready-to-use products. But some entrepreneurs offer custom works or one-off projects among ready-to-use products.
This "Request a quote" CS-Cart modification is aimed to add to standard CS-Cart store an ability to gather quotes from clients through the storefront or to send quotes and invoices directly to the client via the client's profile/account. All invoices can be paid online.
The customer can Request a Quote via My Account on the storefront. As this button was clicked, the page with the built-in form is opened.
Here the customer can enter the email (for unregistered users), fill in Quote subject ad description, attach the products and Submit Quote.
If a customer doesn't have an account, a new account is automatically created. The password and username are automatically generated and sent to customer's email. This data can be used in the future when the customer needs to log in the website.
So, when the customer submits a quote, the quote information displays in the backend: Orders -> Quotes/Invoices.
The store admin can change the quote status to Approved and the quote becomes an Invoice. The client sees it in the account and may make a payment.
Moreover, the admin can create a quote or an invoice through the backend. The customer whose email is specified in process of the quote/invoice creating got a notification by email. The customer can accept or decline a quote created by admin. If the customer declines the quote, the store admin gets the refusal for review. The store admin can revise it and re-submit to quote back to the customer. It may last until the customer and the admin accept the quote or it's expired.
