How to change viewing images in CS-Cart

This instructions are applicable to replace viewing images in CS-Cart 2.1.x version.

The product's thumbnails are created automatically from the full images on default in CS-Cart. If you want to upload the thumbnails manually:

• Sign in the administration panel.
• Open the tab Catalog.
• Click on the link Products.
• Choose the necessary product and click on its name.
• On the Editing product page go to the tab General.
• Click on the line upload them manually.
• If you have already had a thumbnail created automatically, first delete it.
• Upload a file.
• Set the Alternative text.
• Save the changes.

If you intend to change the thumbnail size and appearance settings:

• Sign in the administration panel.
• Go to the tab Administration.
• Follow the link Settings.
• Click on the link Thumbnails.
• Fill in the settings field.
• Save the changes.

In order to restore automatic creation of thumbnails you'll have to clean up the thumbnails cache after setting changes. Open the link http://www.your_domain.com/admin.php?cc in your browser: www.your_domain.com is your web store address; admin.php is a script file for your store admin panel renamed for security reason.

P.S. Additional small thumbnails (in case you add additional images of the product) are displayed underneath the main image on the product details page. They are stored in the directory images/thumbnails.

This instructions are applicable to replace viewing images in CS-Cart 2.0.x version.

If you need to create thumbnails from full image automatically

• Sign in the administration panel.
• Go to the tab Administration.
• Click the Settings link.
• Click the Thumbnails link.
• Tick the check box Create thumbnails from detailed images automatically.
• Save the changes.

It is also possible to change the thumbnail size settings here. You will have to re-upload twice: first after you changed the thumbnail size settings, then to change the size of the detailed images re-upload once again.

You do not need to upload images twice if the option Create thumbnails from detailed images automatically is enabled. As in this case the thumbnail is created automatically when you upload the detailed images to the product detail page.

P.S. Detailed pictures are displayed in the View larger image window and are stored in the images/detailed directory on the server. Created thumbnails are displayed on the product details page and are stored in the images/product directory.

Additional small thumbnails are created and displayed under the main image on the product details page, they are stored in the images/thumbnails directory.
